Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) organised interactive sessions with customers on 'Market Support Services' at different locations of the country as part of Vigilance Awareness Week from November 12 to 16, 2007. Similar sessions with vendors, contractors and suppliers were also held at the SAIL plants. The theme of this year's Vigilance Awareness Week was 'Efficiency and Transparency in Customer-Oriented Programmes'.
SAIL also held awareness sessions on the RTI Act and purchase & contract procedures in its plant/unit locations across the country. Various contests on elocution, essay and quiz as well as thematic skits were organised at various plants and units with active involvement of the employees and their family members. The programmes were organised by the company's Vigilance Department under the guidance of SAIL's Chief Vigilance Officer Mr. Venugopal K. Nair.
During the closing function at Ispat Bhavan, Mr. S.K. Roongta, Chairman, SAIL, released Inspiration, the SAIL Vigilance Department's new journal which aims to help in spreading awareness on vigilance-related matters. Mr. Roongta also gave away prizes to the award winners of the various competitions.
