Burnpur:While on a visit to Burnpur on Sunday, 19th May, to review the modernization & expansion work of IISCO Steel Plant (ISP), SAIL Chairman Mr CS Verma handed over ‘assignments’ for early commissioning of BOF & CCP Complex to various groups of the plant. The ‘assignment’ concept is the result of weeks of interactions with the ISP top brass to find out issues that are important for timely completion of the project. All identified critical jobs have been broken into small activities and the teams have been formed for this purpose for timely completion of the various jobs.
During his visit to Burnpur, Mr Verma visited the BOF & CCP sites, Coke Oven, Sinter Plant and Wire Rod Mill. Happy to note that the expansion and modernization work at Burnpur has reached an advance stage and units like Coke Oven, Sinter Plant and Wire Rod Mill have already commenced production, he exhorted the concerned officials and employees for early stabilization of these units. He also urged for early completion of the BOF-CCP unit to ensure integrated commissioning.
Addressing a gathering of employees here, SAIL Chairman re-affirmed his confidence in the huge potential of ISP and underscored the key role this unit is slated to play in realizing SAIL's Vision 2020.
The assignment ceremony was held in the presence of SAIL Director (Tech) Mr SS Mohanty, Director (Personnel) Mr HS Pati, Director (Projects & Business Planning) Mr TS Suresh, ISP CEO Mr N Kothari, advisor Mr RP Singh and a large number of senior project officials of ISP, MECON and consortium partners.
