Pig Iron

The mass of pig shall be either 45 kg having two notches or 22.5 kg having one notch, subject to mutual agreement between the purchaser and manufacturer.

Other elements such as Cr, Mo, Ni, Ti, V etc. may be present in traces (total not exceeding 10%). The contents of these elements shall not be used in classification of pig iron.

Pig Iron is available in SAIL grade with silicon content of 1 - 1.5%.
